Siquijor : Mystic Island

Suquijor : Mystic Island is a 2007 Philippine movie that was written and directed by Mark Philipp Espina. Starring Ian Veneracion as Xavier, Assunta de Rossi as Alex, Yul Servo as Carlo, Angel Aquino as Doreen, Coco Martin as Miguel, Sid Lucero as Jake, and Rodel Velayo as Neil.

Offered an opportunity to move Xavier Adriano’s daytime reality series to primetime slot, the crew of “Hilakbot” – which features reenactments of occult tales — jumps at the chance. Looking to make a splashy nighttime debut, the gang heads to the mystical isle of Siquijor but is forced to stage an exorcism just to produce footage when nothing strange occurs or so they think.

But as soon as they arrive in Manila, strange things happen to each member of the team. It’s as if they’ve been cursed. Carlo tries to investigate what is really happening. He probes into the events and digs deeper into their footage with the help of his editor Neil (Rodel Velayo).

As they go through the tapes, a whirlwind of mystery ensues, steadily building into a shocking hell-raising finale.
